Flos Model 265 Wall Lamp by Paolo Rizzatto
The minimalist Model 265 wall lamp was designed by Paolo Rizzatto for Flos Italy in 1973. This lamp is part of the Stardust Modern Design Icon Collection while it awaits permanent inclusion in the MoMA design collection. Designed early in his career, Model 265, a swiveling swing-arm wall-mounted light is considered one of Paolo Rizzatto's purist masterpieces. In particular, it is its sparing use of materials and austere design that make the lamp so fascinating. Paolo Rizzatto's Model 265 lamp shows how far it is possible to push the mantra of simplicity and purity, and still achieve a result that is aesthetically pleasing. The triple "Compasso d'oro" award-winning Italian designer Paolo Rizzatto was actually trained as an architect at the Politecnico di Milano, one of the world's leading universities for architects and designers. The Flos 265 lamp is a practical solution for living rooms, bedrooms, alcoves or office spaces where lighting is needed.
